Robot Archaeology

Over the last couple of years we have pushed the envelope of Jerusalem based archaeology by introducing a robotic camera into a Jesus era burial tomb.

With the aid of the camera, we discovered the first inscription attesting to faith in resurrection inscribed on a bone box i.e., a limestone ossuary.

More than this, we discovered what we believe is the first Christian icon, an image of a great fish spitting out Jonah. The Sign of Jonah is the earliest Christian symbol, 200 years earlier than anything found in the Roman catacombs, dating back to Jesus and his first followers.

After our success, we were in touch with archaeologist Sergio Gomez Chavez about introducing robotic arms at his dig in Teotihuacan, Mexico. We even pitched a series called “Robo Archaeology” but we had no takers. Archaeologist Chavez didn’t give up. He introduced robots under his site and the robot has sent back images of three unknown chambers. I wonder what’s in them! Click here to see.
